Sample Essay For Year Dental School

Sample Essay For Year Dental SchoolYou can do a great deal to make a great impression at the first impression of prospective dental students, by supplying them with a sample essay that contains useful information about dental care and the academic expectations for first year dental students. Here are some tips to get you started:Find a good sample essay. I usually use The Dental School Training Guide by Dr. Ralph S. Keenan, DDS. This is an excellent guide, but don't try to copy word for word. Use the guide's format as a template and then add in your own ideas.Be sure to address the 'subject matter' of the specific subject matter of the essay. If you're writing about dentistry, it makes sense to discuss how the academic training program will prepare you for the complexities of dentistry. But if you're writing about soccer training for first-year athletes, this is irrelevant.Stay within the confines of the paragraph topic, and use what makes sense to you to expand on. If you had a situ ation come up when training for the first time, or when first starting a new career, find a good example of a personal account of this situation from the internet. Have it read aloud to you so you can understand it better. Then modify it a bit, and summarize it.Avoid jargon, technical language, and professional jargon. You might think that using technical terms is helpful in writing a good essay, but this will detract from your credibility. Make sure that every time you write a word or phrase that is not familiar to you, a person knows it, and you need to explain it. A professor may be able to explain it to you, but a student may not.Review boards will be looking for skill, not for your ability to use the proper academic jargon. I have always been amazed at the sheer number of papers I have read where the reviewer has failed to comprehend the key points of the essay because the writer was not careful to clearly explain it to him or her.Consider how your education needs to change dur ing the course of your dental school career. Some students require more specialized training in such areas as cosmetic dentistry, computer assisted computer tomography, cosmetic dental procedures, etc. You may find it helpful to include a statement about this, or give examples of where you are now training to meet these unique demands.Keep it brief and to the point. You may want to ask some questions and provide examples of situations that may arise. Again, keep the English as clear as possible.
